PILATES EXERCISE// Weekend Workshops and Intensives

Continuing Education for skill building, problem-solving, and vocabulary acquisition for exercises on Mat and all pieces of Pilates apparatus. Classical, Fundamental and Evolved exercise forms are presented. Lecture-demonstration format with bio mechanical movement analyses and commentary on function.

HUMAN FUNCTION// Special Topics Seminars

Continuing Education for Refined Human Function. Includes osteology, myology, functional anatomy and bio mechanical analysis of movement. Topics include: Abdominal Centering, Core Training, Pelvic and Shoulder Girdle Function, Foot and Ankle, Neck and Head, and related topics on anatomical function, human movement and good health. Workshops use Pilates exercise demonstrations to illustrate the featured topics.

This three-day workshop provides a rigorous examination of a broad series of fundamental exercises which lay the foundation for optimal function. Developed as ‘pre-exercises’ for the demanding repertoire of the Pilates Method, these concepts and exercises are relevant for those in the fields of Pilates instruction, corrective exercise and physical therapy. Anatomical function, open and closed chain circumstances, relationships to gravity, skill building and all planes of movement will be addressed.
